Indy jumped out to a 17-3 lead and looked to put it away, but could not. That ole country gunslinger from Mississippi, Bret Favre, rallied his troops to go up 24-17 with two long TD tosses to Bubba Franks and Terry Glenn respectively. Peyton Manning is no stranger to comebacks either and found a way to throw two straight 3 yard tosses to win it. Marcus Pollard caught the first one and All-Pro Reggie Wayne caught the game winner. Manning threw for 367 yards and 3 TD's. Indy's unheralded defense held tight for the final 8:27 to not allow Favre his day in the sun.
